the auleempigs(as master pronounced) has started and it is of great pride that i see 2 of our fellow singaporeans getting eliminated on national day in the olympics. that is the day when we commemorate our 43rd year of independence and it is really heartening to see tao li getting into the finals of swimming, but at the same time, really "proud" to see 2 athletes get eliminated from the competition. i think that sometimes singaporeans get quite big in the head and think they can win everything because their skills are just so damm f!@#$%g good! pls! it is already miraculous if u can reign king of south-east asia, this is the AULEEMPIGS we are talking about! the year u win a gold medal is when PIGS fly. some athletes have joined the event for three times, which means they have honed their skill for at least twelve years(cos 4x3=12, so smart!)and if they cant win anyth jux forget about it. concentrate on being king of SEA den try to conquere asia bit by bit. dun put ur head too high, it will just roll down the ground. if it is juz making numbers to look big and not substantial, might as well dun go! its really disappointing if u get eliminated, but on national day? oh pls! spare us! look at some nations, their contingent of athletes are only 5-6, people laugh at them WHY SO LITTLE PPL GO? but have it occurred to you guys that these ppl may actually have a very high chance to win a medal? and wun it be more humiliating if these small contingent actually got one medal but such a big contingent that we posted out won none? pls, those wif high chance then bring them go! at least they get a fifth or sixth position we can still hold our heads up high! As detractors of our country has said before, we are jux a small little red dot. getting such a position wif such a small population is awesome alr. when we laugh at these small contingents, we are actually indirectly laughing at ourselves, and other countries would also be laughing at us. knowing our own limits is good (as they say in hokkien "smart good enuf alr, dun act smart") dun overestimate oneself.
another point which i am quite uncomfortable is when they start talking about their chances of a medal even before the games started, esp the newspaper! din they heard of dun count ur chickens before they are hatched? pls la its always the same, who have a high chance of winning a medal, who have the highest chance of winning, whose name will be recorded in the annals of history if who won. can the media just stop all this shit, u noe u are heaping unnecessary pressure on the athletes themselves?! u think so easy to win ah? u go and play la, all talk only! it happened in 2000 olympics to jing junhong, it happened in 2004 to lijawei say what bronze medal at least, in the end neva win anyth then talk talk talk say we could have won wat could have won wat! its not the athletes who dun want to win, newspaper talk so much cock for wat! even more hilarious--- if this athlete concentrate and focus and the other teams lose focus and got distracted then we would HAVE A CHANCE! again talk about ifs and if nots. media muz wake up, the world is not ur fantasy island, its nt a utopia u cant wish for everything u want and ifs and hypothesis will not come true if u jux wait for others to screw up. this should not be the mentality the media should be expounding! i would be supreme conqueror IF all my IFS come true right or not?!?!
